Farming is a necessary gameplay element in Kingdoms and Castles. You must farm your land and see that it thrives. Farming can be done through farms and orchards. Farming generates "Food" Food for your peasants. Farming is vital early game

Farm Buildings (Farm Tab in Build Menu)

There are a variety of buildings in the farm tab in order from right to left:

Farming Producers

These are the buildings that Produce Food. They fall into two lose categories, Buildings that produce food from nothing and those that consume resources to produce more food.

Farming Source Multipliers

These buildings increase food production to certain food Producers. The two things that are contribute to this are the Windmill and the Noria system. The windmill adds +3 Food to all sounding farms. And the Noria provides water to aqueducts and reservoirs, with the reservoir increasing Food production for sounding Farms and Orchards in a much larger radius.
